Lamps

CFL

High powered compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) can be used as either a primary grow light or as a supplementary light. They are available in blue and red spectrums for vegetative and flowering growth. It has to be said, that they are not as productive as high intensity lights but are cheaper to buy and run and provide much less heat. No separate ballast is required for these lights, they screw into a standard E40 fitting.

Sodium and MH

The Sodium Grolux Lamp is specifically developed for horticultural use and optimum plant growth. Grolux lamps are colour adjusted to provide a much broader spectrum of light making them perform well in both the vegetative and flowering stages of a plants life cycle.

Sunmaster Lamps are similar to Grolux lamps having been specifically developed for indoor plant growing and are spectrum adjusted to perform well in both vegetative and flowering growth. Producing 90,000 lumens, the Sunmaster Dual Spectrum Lamp is very high quality with high output.Average Life: 10,000 hours. To maintain a high lumen output we recommend you change your lamps every 9-12 months.

 Metal Halide lamps have a strong output in the blue spectrum, used most effectively for vegetative growth. Ideally used as part of a two lamp method they give off both high light levels and high heat.

Reflectors

Combining flexibility over both the angle of the wings and the distance of the lamp from reflector, the Mantis Shade allows the grower to focus the light for maximum efficiency.

The Diamond Reflector is a unique construction and combination of reflective surfaces designed to direct all usable light down towards plants uniformly. This avoids hotspots and ensures more even growth. Available in two different sizes for either 400 Watt or 600 Watt lamps. Both include a reflector to ballast lead with IEC connection suitable for use with most ballasts.

Ballasts

Lumatek ballasts offer vastly improved efficiency, silent operation and extended lamp life. They are the UK’s most popular electronic/digital ballast. The efficiency gains over magnetic ballasts can mean significant running cost savings and extended lamp life. It also has optional increased light output. Large savings on your electricity bill can be made by using a digital ballast instead of a magnetic ballast.
